I love being part of helping children speak their first words or overcome a hurdle that their parents once thought they would never be able to move past.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Brittany adds a wonderful dimension to our team with her diverse background in psychology, education, and social work! She earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Arkansas State University, and then a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Arkansas. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and has special certification in Early Intervention Behavior Analysis. She lives in Greenbrier with her husband Chris, and their four-year-old daughter Gracie Jo. They also have two dogs, Maggie and Bo. Her hobbies include refurbishing furniture and perusing at flea markets.
Brittany chose pediatric therapy because she is passionate about Early Intervention and the long-term effects that it can have on a child. She says, “There is so much you can do to help mold and shape a child’s growth when working in Early Intervention. I find this extremely rewarding – to see the benefits it can have on children and their families. I love being part of helping children speak their first words or overcome a hurdle that their parents once thought they would never be able to move past.”
One of her professional goals is to go back to school and get a Ph.D. in Behavior Analysis. She is also interested in earning additional certifications in specific areas within the Applied Behavioral Analysis field, such as Pivotal Response Teaching or PECS. She shares that one of her favorite memories, and something she is still motivated by, is working with a completely non-verbal child, and seeing his fast progress with her support. “By the time his program ended, I was able to have conversations with him and ask him questions, and he could give me appropriate responses. This is a memory that I will never forget!”
